What a great night we had at the Opera!
Even Opera “haters” were turned into Opera ‘Lovers’ at Nickel City Opera’s production of Don Pasquale at the Riveria Theatre. Starring Valerian Ruminski as “Don Pasquale”. This was an operatic comedy about an old man who was scheming to marry a young woman so he could leave his fortune to her because he didn’t want to leave it to his only heir – his nephew. He didn’t want to leave it to his nephew because he didn’t like the woman his nephew was married to…but lo and behold, the joke was on him, as his nephew’s girlfriend schemes to marry the old man! In a plot twist, it turns out ok in the end, but you see, opera is not so boring as some may think.
We had fun and I even got to Emcee – something that I love to do.
Even the Opera Novices that I brought with me had a great time too. They are looking forward to the next production by the Nickel City Opera which will be the weekend of Thanksgiving – “Amol” a christmas opera for children. More information about that when the time comes.
So, now you have it…even YOU, can go to the opera and have fun!
